Hi all!

Hi everyone,

Well done to the children who have brought their reading bags in this week and have been practising their sounds and words each night!  Keep it up!  Please can parents write in the book so that I know how well your child has done through the week!  Thanks.  (Please just concentrate on the single sounds do not worry about the blends at this point, unless your child is ready).

It was great catching up with you all at the reading evening and also parents evening.  thanks for your continued support.

We are getting really busy with our Christmas preparations in our Area and we are trying really hard to learn all the songs.  I can't wait to see all the costumes!  I really love this time of year!

I'm sure the children have told you we have some new additions to our class we have some gold fish!  The children have been super at helping look after them and making sure they have their food!  Well done!

In the next couple of weeks we will be busy with the concert and using our PE hall time to prepare for the concert, so don't worry about bringing kits on Tuesday.  We will still make sure we do plenty of physical activities outdoors.

Welcome to Reception!

Hi all,

Welcome to the reception class. The children have settled in really well and are getting used to the new routines and classroom.

I'm sure you have all read the letter we sent out about the term ahead of us.  If you have any queries please call in and see me.  Thanks for all completing the sheets on 'All About Me'.  We have already looked at some ideas that were suggested, such as how tall we are and labelling the parts of the body. I am getting to know all the new faces now!

Can i remind you that PE day is a Tuesday and that children need to bring a pair of wellies to school as we will be starting Forest School shortly.

We have a fun term ahead of us!

Thanks to all the Grandparents!

Hi all thanks all the grandparents who came to our recycling fashion show It was lovely to see you. We have a busy week coming up.... Next week now is our wedding and the 40th celebration. On Thursday children can wear party clothes for the wedding. Thanks to the children who have offered to bring wedding outfits, Can these come in by Wednesday for us to run through the wedding ceremony It is going to be a fun day! On friday the children then can wear 70s outfits for our40th Celebration at Maesybryn. Any questions pop and see me Thanks miss jervis

Grandparents afternoon!

Just a quick reminder please can children bring their recyclable item of clothing they have made to school tomorrow in readiness for our Grandparents afternoon on Thursday. I hope you have asked your grandparents to come! It starts 2pm thursday, in the hall or outside if fine. There will be drinks, cakes and a raffle too!

Hi all,

What a wash out this week has been!  fingers crossed the weather will improve so we can feel like summer is on it's way!

I hope you all received the information sheet for the term about what we are doing.  here is a quick reminder....

Our Topic is "Oh I do like to be beside the seaside......"

• lifecycles
• sea life
• holidays
• pirates
• pushes and pulls (transport)
• time, money, addition and subtraction
• books-a new home for pirate, sharing a shell, hoilday theme books etc.

These are all starting points.  We are starting our Pirate theme next week- if you have any pirate resources to bring to school that would be great!

Also any ice-cream tubs for our ice cream shop role play in class.

We would love any junk for making pirate ships and different forms of transport.

We are going to be busy in the Forest this term too!

Welsh Mobiles

Our Precious World

Hi Everyone,

It has been a great start to 2012 so far!  Our Class have been super so far this term.  Everyone is really trying their best!

Our Theme this term as you know is Our Precious World.  Thank you for all the resources you brought in for Chinese New Year and Our Travel Agents.  We have also been looking at Dinosaurs for our Maths this term.  We made our own fossils.  Joshua Hillard brought in a fab fossil to show everybody, well done Joshua!

We had a lovely Chinese celebration last week and we made a stir fry.  All the children thought it was yummy!

We are palnning on lots of trips to the Forest this term so make sure you all have wellies in School!

We are starting singing our welsh songs and saying our poem for the Eisteddfod this year-my how time flies!  We will be doing our paintings for the Eisteddfod as well next week.

Well done to the children who are trying so hard with their reading its lovely to see the progress.
